# Installation & Setup

#### 🔌 Step 1: Connect GenRouter to the Internet

* Plug your **Internet cable** (from your main modem or source) into the **WAN port** of the GenRouter.

  > This allows GenRouter to receive internet connection.

#### 📶 Step 2: Connect your device to GenRouter WiFi

* On your phone or computer, go to WiFi settings.
* Look for the WiFi name starting with:\
  \&#xNAN;**`GENROUTER_2.4G`** or **`GENROUTER_5G`**
* Connect to this WiFi network.

#### 🌐 Step 3: Access the GenRouter control panel

* Open a web browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.)
* Type this address in the URL bar:\
  \&#xNAN;**`192.168.5.1:9000`**
* Press **Enter** to access the control panel.

If you see the login screen, you’ve successfully connected to the GenRouter system 🎉\
From here, you can start setting up your proxy, VPN, and other features.

> 💡 *Tip: It’s recommended to use a laptop or PC for the first-time setup for easier navigation.*
